Lennar Considers Investment in 247-Unit Oakland Tower

Placeholder

Lennar and developer Joe Hernon are in talks to partner on a 247-unit tower at 1640 Broadway. Nothing has been finalized but a pre-application is in with Oakland City Planning. Renderings for a potential new design would include more than 8k SF in commercial space and will be available soon, the San Francisco Business Times reports. Many tower proposals are moving forward in the area, another sign that Oakland’s housing economics are changing. Developer Seth Hamalian’s proposed 345-unit tower at 1900 Broadway was unanimously approved by the Oakland Planning Commission last week. Lennar Multifamily Communities, a division of the parent company, has been very active in the East Bay Area and recently moved its offices to 492 9th St. [SFBT]
