CityView's Work At Union Flats Praised By Government Officials

CityView recently held a naming ceremony for an apartment complex in Union City. The Union Flats will provide market-rate housing options for residents who have been priced out of Bay Area real estate.

Developers stressed the community’s proximity to BART, which will make daily commutes to San Francisco and Silicon Valley feasible.

Government officials at the event praised the project. Union City Mayor Carol Dutra-Vernaci applauded CityView for “bringing [Union City] a much-needed housing development.” She added Union Flats marked an important chapter in the city’s revitalization plans.

The project was funded in part by a grant from the California Department of Housing and Community Development. HCD chief of infill infrastructure grant program Eugene Lee pointed to Union Flats as a model of high-density residential that should surround transit centers.

Windflower Properties developed the property in partnership with CityView.
