Warriors' New Arena Survives Legal Challenge

Plans for the Golden State Warriors’ new arena in Mission Bay are set to go ahead now that a legal challenge against the stadium has been defeated.

The Mission Bay Alliance, a group that claims the newly named Chase Center will snarl traffic near the UCSF Medical Center, filed the suit in Superior Court, according to SocketSite. Presiding Judge Garrett L. Wong sided with the city, noting the approval and environmental review processes were valid.

GSW Arena LLC, which is overseeing the construction, did not stop development as the case made its way through the court system.

Cushman & Wakefield recently won the contract to bring retail and restaurants to the arena. [SS]
