The cause of the Oakland construction fire that destroyed Wood Partners' Alta Waverly project is officially undetermined, federal investigators said Friday.

Even though there were similarities to other arson-ruled construction fires, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives did not conclude any specific cause following its investigation, the East Bay Times reports. The ATF will continue to review any additional evidence it discovers from witness accounts or community members.

July 7 fire destroyed the under-construction Alta Waverly, a 196-unit apartment complex with 31,500 SF of retail. The developer is working with the city to rebuild the project. It is expected to deliver in early 2019.
