Google, LinkedIn Face Decision Day

Google, LinkedIn and other techies are prepping for a big ruling that will decide who will get future development rights in Mountain View, and housing is a big point of contention. This week city staff recommended cutting out two of Google’s four proposed glass-canopied office complexes—more than half of its futuristic campus expansion—after kicking off a study of those sites for residential use, reports the Silicon Valley Business Journal. While Google supports the study, the non-binding recommendation to take office off the table, at least for now, clearly was not received warmly by the search-engine giant on Friday. [SVBJ]
