    Green features: It's one of only five in the country in its unit count category and the first in the the state for good reason: count insulation installation, Low E windows, EV charging stations, smart roofing materials, drought-tolerant plants and drip irrigation systems in landscaping to minimize water consumption, and low flow toilets, shower heads and faucets among its green features.

    Green features: Site-specific strategies include: rainwater harvesting and treatment; on-site wastewater treatment and reuse with infiltration; district energy; natural daylighting; access to public transportation.

    Green features: The site is a high-density infill, a former brownfield with existing infrastructure, and within access to outstanding community resources. A large photovoltaic system offsets 50% common area electricity demand; a solar thermal system preheats water to reduce natural gas consumption; and an edible garden sits atop the roof.

    LEED Certification: Gold

    Green features: Its location on a high-density, urban infill site is known for its walkability, connectivity and proximity to San Diego State University as well as to all kinds of urban transportation. Also applauded: its achievements in energy efficiency, healthy indoor air quality and water-use reduction.

    Green features: Here there are live-work units, retail facilities, a green roof, bike storage and shared amenities like conference and fitness rooms. Low energy use helps residents save on their utility bills while also reducing their overall environmental footprint.
