Phoenix Pizza Hut First In Nation To Offer Beer Delivery

Placeholder

Now there is exactly one Pizza Hut in the nation at which customers can have beer delivered along with a more conventional order of pizza: the Downtown Phoenix location at First and East Pierce streets.

The Yum! Brands pizza chain will add wine delivery to the Phoenix location in January, and plans to expand libation delivery to other metro areas later in 2018, AZ Central reports.

The first kinds of beer available for delivery from the fast-food pizza chain are six-packs of Bud Light, Budweiser, Shock Top and Kilt Lifter, which are all Anheuser-Busch InBev products. Such packs go for $10.99 each; individual Buds and Bud Lights are $3 and Shock Top and Kilt Lifter are $3.50.

Pizza Hut picked Downtown Phoenix for the pilot beer-delivery program because Phoenix's demographics are a close approximation of the nation as a whole, according to the company. It helps that the Downtown location was already licensed to sell liquor.

All aspects of delivery will comply with Arizona liquor laws, according to Pizza Hut. Pizza delivery workers will check customer IDs in the same way they are checked in bars, and the delivery drivers will all be 21 or older.
