WRT principal Nando Micale led 11 Penn Graduate School of Design students on a weeklong field investigation in the Bakken Region of western North Dakota recently. The group met with various government officials and presented eight weeks of research, analysis, and preliminary growth strategies to address the development pressures facing the oil- and gas-producing counties of the area, reports the Charleston Daily Mail. The group's proposal will be presented in Philadelphia on May 8 to Penn faculty and North Dakota officials, as well as Vision West ND, a Sustainable Community Planning Initiative funded by HUD. [CDM]
