The Brea Mall’s Sears Will Be Redeveloped Into Mixed-Use
The recently closed Sears at the Brea Mall in Orange County will be converted into a mixed-use destination with residential and dining components and a fitness center, according to mall owner Simon Property Group.
Simon Malls Chief Operating Officer Michael E. McCarty called the new project a transformational redevelopment for the Brea Mall in a news release last week.
He said the mixed-use components would offer dining, residential, entertainment and a 120K SF Life Time Athletic fitness center.
“We are excited to redevelop the former Sears’s store with uses that will benefit the community and the existing retailers in these properties,” McCarty said.
Simon officials did not provide a timeline for when the redevelopment would begin.
The Sears was one of five anchor department stores inside the 1.3M SF Brea Mall.
