Metro Cooking!

We stopped by the Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining show Sunday at the Washington Convention Center. Metro Cooking DC teamed up with RAMW, the James Beard Foundation and L'Academie de Cuisine to bring 18,000 DC foodies two days of specialty foods, culinary expertise and cooking products. At the Celebrity Theater Presentation, we snapped Bobby Flay whipping up some paella and sangria.

We gathered in the Beer, Wine & Spirits Garden for libations and toasts to the food frenzy. Here, DC 101’s James Howard, Corporate Traveler’s Marcie Howard, US Senate staffer Jessica Fernandez and HP’s Jorge Diaz.

James Beard award winning chefs offered tastes from notable DC restaurants. Here, Food Wine & Co.’s chef de cuisine Eddie Moran and sous chef Sean Hurt served up Duck Rillette (spiced sweet potato, almond duck crackling, gremolata tamarindo) and Celery Root Vichyssoise (green apple, truffle oil, lava sea salt). We were stuffed by the time we left!
