Boston Properties has named two new members to its board of directors following the retirement of two previous directors.

The Boston-based REIT announced Wednesday its stockholders elected Gensler co-CEO Diane Hoskins and Rockpoint Group Managing Member William Walton to join its board.

Hoskins, based in D.C., served as managing director in Gensler's D.C. office and Southeast regional managing principal before being named co-CEO in 2005. She was elected to the Washington Business Hall of Fame in 2016. Gensler, the world's largest architecture firm, has more than 6,000 employees across 48 global offices.

Walton in 1994 co-founded Rockpoint Group, which has invested roughly $60B in real estate. He also co-founded Westbrook Real Estate Partners and served as managing director for Morgan Stanley's real estate group.

Hoskins and Walton will replace Jacob Frenkel and Martin Turchin on Boston Properties' board. The 11-member board includes nine independent directors. Boston Properties also announced Wednesday it appointed Joel Klein, who had been the lead independent director, to become chairman of the board.

“We are pleased to welcome Diane and Bill to Boston Properties,” Klein said in a release. “They both bring leadership, vision and expertise that will further strengthen the skillset of our directors."

The REIT's portfolio totals 54.1M SF across 196 properties, including 11 projects under construction. Led by Ray Ritchey, its D.C. office has landed five build-to-suit leases totaling nearly 3M SF in the last two years.
