The West Heating Plant in Georgetown

The lengthy process of redeveloping the West Heating Plant in Georgetown may be gaining some momentum.

The development team, led by Georgetown developer Richard Levy, presented its latest design to community members Thursday night and received a mostly positive reaction, the Washington Business Journal reports.

Levy Group, along with coincidentally named New York firm Georgetown Co. and Four Seasons Residences, won development rights for the World War II-era heating plant at an auction in March 2013 with a $19.5M bid. The development team's next hurdle will be an Advisory Neighborhood Commission meeting on April 3, followed by several additional planning and zoning steps.
