Union Station is set for a massive redevelopment over the next decade, and one of the first additions could be a new boutique hotel.
Ashkenazy Acquisition Corp plans to redevelop office space that houses Amtrak's national HQ into a boutique hotel within the next five years, the Washington Business Journal reports.
Guests would enter the hotel through the east side of the station, where the B. Smith's restaurant previously sat.
Last week, Union Station unveiled its $20M restoration of the main hall. The long-term plan for the station aims to double ridership, and Akridge is planning the $3M Burnham place, rendered above, which will be spread across 14 acres above the rail yard. [WBJ]
