World Police & Fire Games Start Tonight!

Who needs the Olympics when the largest, multi-venue international sporting event kicks off in Northern Virginia today? The 2015 World Police & Fire Games, which go through July 5, feature 12,000 athletes from 70 countries who also hold down full-time jobs as law enforcement officers and career firefighters. The games, free and open to the public, range from badminton and bodybuilding to Judo and soccer. The opening ceremony is Friday at 6pm at RFK Stadium; complimentary tickets and more info on the games here.
