Willco Readies Hill East Residential

Last week, we told you about Goldstar Group's future 40-unit apartment complex at the corner of 15th Street and Pennsylvania Ave SE in Hill East. Right next door, there's some more new residential going up, says Willco Residential's Gary Cohen. We snapped Gary yesterday in front of 732 15th St, where he tells us Willco will develop an eight-unit condo building. Groundbreaking is expected for early 2014. Gary says the neighborhood is ready for condos because there's pent-up demand but limited inventory. (That's also why boys brave enough to sneak into a girls cabin at summer camp enjoyed notable success.)

Gary tells us neighboring developments like the Goldstar site, a Douglas Development project directly across the street (above), as well asa NOVO Development site one block away (not to mention EastBanc's Hine School development nearby, which could take the neighborhood to "a new level," he says) will all complement each other. Gary says Willco is also looking at new projects on H Street and Brightwood, and is close to an acquisition in Mt. Vernon Square.
