Possibly reality TV Stars Giuliana and Bill Rancic. Sources tell us their concept RPM Italian will open up at Boston Properties' 601 Mass building in the neighborhood soon, and a concept from Georgetown bakery Baked and Wired will also pop up in MVT. Retail's helping lead the transformation of the area, as was discussed at the MVT Community Improvement District's Retail Broker Event last week. MVT CID chief Claire Oleksiak (here with Rappaport's Jim Farrell) tells us the neighborhood already has an existing retail base of 182k SF, and since the first of the year, new spots like Alba Osteria, Silo, Le Pain Quotidien, Eye Street Cellars, and fitness concept Solidcore (specialty fitness) have all opened. Also, Texas de Brazil took the coveted old Buddha Bar space on Mass Avenue.
