New offices, retail, and apartments are popping up, and Wednesday evening, we took a stroll around some of the new spots. Roadside Development's CityMarket at O is rapidly finishing up, and the development's restored Giant is creating heaps of action on O Street. Jefferson Apartment Group's Jefferson MarketPlace, next door, is also almost finished.
Four Points/Ellis Development/the Jarvis Co's Progression Place, above the Shaw-Howard U Metro, is bustling, and houses the United Negro College Fund, which bought the floors it occupies years before the property delivered.
Even Fundrise is getting in on the action: the firm will open up investment to the public on 1539 7th St, a retail rehab project, in a few weeks.
