Update: Cathedral Commons

It's hard to believe looking at this picture we snapped last week, but the Giant on Wisconsin Avenue in Cleveland Park once stood here. As you may know, it's now being redeveloped by Giant, Southside Development, and Bozzuto as Cathedral Commons. Bozzuto's Jeff Kayce tells us this morning that the project is on schedule, and by late summer, construction should progress to above street level. The site will eventually have three cranes, Jeff says. You can see the first of them, installed in late April, jutting out of what we think is the new Giant's frozen peas section. (Hard to tell from this angle.) Cathedral Commons is scheduled to deliver next year.
