Last night we met the three co-CEOs behind the curtain who run the 5,000-employee, 46-office architecture giant known as Gensler.

Of course, DC already knows Diane Hoskins, who’s based here and used to run the local office before joining the global leadership cadre. But also in town for a five-day board meeting: S.F.-based David Gensler (son of founder Art Gensler) and LA-based Andy Cohen. The firm loves to design collaborative workspace, but evidently it’s also found the concept works for management; the trio inaugurated the arrangement 10 years ago and has led the firm ever since. Not that Gensler lacked staying power—it celebrates its 50th anniversary this September.

Dropping by the reception (at Gensler’s K Street office) to say hi: Savills Studley’s Adam Singer; top legal eagle Wendy White, now of Morris Manning & Martin; and Italian Formula One champ Mario Andretti. Oh, wait, it’s another famous racer, Savills Studley’s Tom Fulcher, who bikes home every night and can be rented out for any party needing a splash of international cachet.

Congrats to newest member of Gensler’s 12-person global board: Jordan Goldstein, center, with MRP founder Bob Murphy and Jordan’s colleague Jeff Barber. Jordan and Jeff joined Gensler at the same time 18 years ago, and have been co-running the local office (now 325 employees) for seven years. Good luck with your hosting duties: their visitors gathered for breakfast this morning at the new Intelsat building in Tysons, are having dinner at LMI HQ, and doing another dinner at the building housing Joe’s Stone Crab. Common denominator? A certain architecture firm designed them all.
