The owners of the International Spy Museum are trying to finalize a deal with developer JBG Cos to build a new museum at L’Enfant Plaza. The museum's current lease in Penn Quarter expires summer 2017. Owner Milton Maltz plans to donate $65M from his communications business, The Malrite Co, and is seeking another $15M in support from the DC government, according to the Washington Post. The organization would be turned into a nonprofit controlled by the District. Malrite would also donate the museum’s existing collection, valued at $42M, to the District. The proposed new location would be a 65k SF stand-alone building. [WaPo]
