Novavax Signs On For 147k SF In Gaithersburg

Clinical-stage vaccine maker Novavax has agreed to a lease to occupy a full building in Gaithersburg.

The company has signed on for 147k SF at 1201 Clopper Rd. The building is owned and managed by Equus, which acquired the property in 2013. The new digs will serve as the company’s lab and manufacturing facility. Novavax has additional facilities in Rockville, MD, and Uppsala, Sweden, and employs more than 300 people, according to GlobeSt.

This is the latest lease announced in the Suburban Maryland area that will see the new tenant take over a full building. Earlier this month, health and education research consulting firm Abt Associates signed on for 155k SF at Monument Realty’s Executive Plaza in White Flint. [GS]
