Over in the Technology Pavilion—which showcases the latest in building technologies, systems, data management solutions, and business tools—we snapped the packed ThyssenKrupp booth. ThyssenKrupp's Brad Nemeth (far right, from Frisco, Texas) tells us the firm is the largest elevator service provider in North America, with nearly 230,000 up-and-down units served. It just launched the Endura MRL, the first elevator in the world that doesn't require a machine room. (Who knew so many elevators were divas?) ThyssenKrupp has also been developing biodegradable hydraulic fluid for use in the model—in case of catastrophe like hurricanes, it won't contaminate anything it contacts.

Cushman & Wakefield general manager Theresa McCaul-Mullan, Allied Barton division prez Ron Rabera, and Advantage Building & Facility Services owner Trish Faidiga were having too much fun to be ignored. Ron tells us his firm services 94% of Philadelphia’s CBD buildings and also has a large presence in the Delaware Valley. It also proudly helped BOMA Philly form one of the first national safety and security committees in ’98, which became a model for at least 10 other BOMA chapters. (Its roots with BOMA run deep; it’s also the first Cornerstone Partner, the sole BOMA 360 Ambassador for security companies, and a principal contributor to BOMA International’s emergency preparedness guide.)
