We're still jazzed from the dizzying array of development hotspots we saw on our first-ever DC Bus Tour last week. Ten guest speakers helped us out, like Roadside Development founder Richard Lake, who showed us around his firm's extraordinary new City Market at O.

Mt. Vernon Triangle CID president Claire Schaefer Oleksiak guided us around her neighborhood—with Boston Properties VP (and valiant jack-of-all-trades) Pete Otteni holding up that sign behind her.

JBG's Emily Garofalo showed us her firm's incredible Atlantic Plumbing site, and en route in Shaw we saw the Wonder Bread Factory at 7th and S streets.

Following a tour of Ft. Totten with JBG's Jamie Weinbaum, Edens' Steve Boyle (above) welcomed our group to the second floor of bustling Union Market, a building that's the catalyst for an entirely new district in DC. Steve says the Angelika pop-up movie theater that just opened up is the first such theater in the country.

At lunch downstairs at Union Market, we snapped Gilbane Construction's Brandice Massey and Zarina Reznikov with Kelley Drye's Ciji Dodds and Grunley Construction's Luca Covi. While sampling the goodies offered by celibri-chef Ris Lacoste, the table was buzzing about the Brookland stop on our tour, highlighted by the brand-new Monroe Street Market project that Abdo COO Gordon Buist took us around.

NoMa BID director Robin-Eve Jasper showed us what has become one of DC's "mature" areas. We may need to do these bus tours every week to keep up with the lighting-fast change.
