Mason Madness

Folks nationwide may only know George Mason as the school that rocked March Madness in '06. (Or the founding father that rocked the Bill of Rights.) But there's more to Mason: its Prince William County campus is on the cutting edge of life sciences and tech. It's why the campus is the site of our big Prince William summit tomorrow, and why we're thrilled GMU president Angel Cabrera is speaking.

Angel, a Madrid native, came to Mason in 2012 and says the school should help set the pace for competitiveness in the region, like Stanford or Berkeley does for Silicon Valley: "Northern Virginia has a sophisticated knowledge-based economy, and we're building a world-class research university." Angel, who will kick off tomorrow's event at the Hylton Performing Arts Center, will be joined by Prince William County chairman Corey Stewart, county economic development czar Jeff Kaczmarek, Roadside Development founder Richard Lake, WestDulles Properties CEO Eric Wells, Key Cybersecurity's Shawn Key, and many more. The event starts at 7:30 AM—click here for more info.
