Thor Equities Acquiring Georgetown Hotel for $53M

New York-based Thor Equities has signed a contract to acquire its first property in the DC area, the former Latham Hotel in Georgetown. The 10-story, 125k SF corner building at 3000 M St NW features 280 feet of wraparound frontage on 30th and M streets, a prime retail corridor with several of the world’s top retail brands. The company plans to redevelop the property, including the retail space fronting M Street, to create a premier flagship location. Additional plans call for the redevelopment of the building’s upper floors for hotel and residential uses. 3000 M St is close to Georgetown University and the main commercial intersection of M Street and Wisconsin Avenue.
