Before our Arlington County State of Market event last week at the Renaissance Crystal City, we cornered Avison Young's Rob Walters and Vornado's Mitch Bonanno. Rob tells us he's hard at work marketing 4040 N Fairfax Dr in Ballston, which is being renovated after DoD fully vacated the property in December. (When we move, we accidentally leave behind a few power strips. Whoever leases this building will probably get a few nuclear footballs.)
Rushmark Properties' Stefan Gassner (with Newmark Grubb Knight Frank's David DeCamp) says things are moving along nicely at his firm's 301 W Broad St development in Falls Church, where Rushmark hopes to build a 60k SF Harris Teeter and 282 residential units above. The firm is seeking approvals and hopes to break ground by early 2014.
