Looking to buy one of those shiny new CityCenter condos downtown? Hines' Howard Riker tells us the units are going fast. Hines is already under contract on more than half of the units at one of the two condo properties (on the H Street side) under construction, and Howard says demand is high for units at the other property (on I St). He adds the buyer base has been diverse, from the 25-40-year-old professional group to empty nesters looking to downsize. There's even been some commuter buyers--folks who return home out-of-state on the weekend. Ultimately, the buyers seem focused on "a level of quality that's appealing," Howard says.
