KLNB principal Cary Judd, one of the DC area's preeminent retail brokers, has died at the age of 56 after a battle with cancer. We snapped him, second from right, in 2011 at the groundbreaking for the Dulles World Center with fellow KLNB principals Dallon Cheney, on the right, and Melissa Welch on the left, with Greenfield Partners' Jim Duszynski.

He was a fixture in the DC market for nearly 30 years, most notably representing Harris Teeter as it grew to a fixture in DC, anchoring The Yards, the future McMillan Park project and dozens of others in the region, the Washington Business Journal reports. He is survived by his wife and children, who request that donations be made in his name to ACC Cure or Life With Cancer in lieu of flowers.

Cary was a die-hard Capitals and Bruce Springsteen fan, and had a reputation at KLNB for his knowledge of the market and mentorship of young brokers. [WBJ]
