Yesterday, Brookfield Asset Management bought into the hotel world in a big way, announcing the acquisition of Thayer Lodging Trust and its deep portfolio for an undisclosed price. Fred and Thayer co-founder Leland Pillsbury will serve as co-chairmen and co-heads of the new firm, which will operate as a subsidiary of Brookfield Asset Management.
