Rize Alliance Breaks Ground on Mount Pleasant Condo

Rize Alliance Properties president and founder Will Lin grabbed a shovel and helped prep for the planting of a Douglas Fir sapling at the recent groundbreaking for The Independent, a 21-storey residential tower at Kingsway and E Broadway. A young tree is a traditional symbol of good luck and resiliency, the builder noted, adding the sapling will join a thicket of larger trees—the height of Vancouver's ancient rain forests, according to Rize—that is planned for the top of the building. The project, with 258 units, is 95% sold, mostly to Metro Vancouver purchasers. Construction completion is slated for fall 2017.
