An Augmented Reality Version Of The University Of Washington's Unfinished Cse2 Computer Science Building
The University of Washington's longtime contractor, Mortenson Construction, has developed an augmented-reality mobile app that is doubling as a community involvement tool.
Mortenson’s Seattle office, which is building the university's CSE2 computer science building, released the AR app recently, which the company said is the first of its kind. The app allows UW students and the general public to preview the facility long before its doors open in January 2019.
Something like Pokémon Go (but without the cartoon characters), the app allows users to point their phones at the construction site, or at a printed sign of it off-campus, to get a virtual representation of what the future CSE2 building will look like.
