Mortenson Construction has been tapped to build the $177M Sound Transit Northgate Station, elevated guideway and parking garage project. The project is part of the $2.1B, 4.3-mile Northgate Link extension, which will extend light rail from Husky Stadium to Northgate with stops in the University District and Roosevelt neighborhoods. The new station, located at NE 103 St east of First Avenue NE, will allow an estimated 15,000 daily riders to travel to Downtown Seattle by 2030, reports the Puget Sound Business Journal. Jacobs Associates is the engineering design firm and North Star is the management consultant on the project. [PSBJ]
