Lyon Communities Breaks Ground on Milpitas Mixed-Use Project

A new mixed-use project in Milpitas will incorporate a 10-story residential building, 30k SF grocery store and nearby nine-story hotel.

Lyon Communities broke ground last week on the project near Great Mall Parkway and McCandless Drive. The Milpitas City Council voted last month to approve zoning changes for the 26.7-acre site for the project, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

In total, the site will include 1,167 residential units, nearly 84k SF of retail and a 175-room hotel. Part of the project includes The District (above), which will have 371 apartments with 45k SF of ground-floor retail. Lyon Communities plans to complete The District in late 2017. [SJMN]
