Urban Solar is teaming up with the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency and Clear Channel Outdoor to supply solar-powered LED lighting across the city.
The solar company is installing 500 of a planned 3,300 solar-powered LED bus stop lights across the city. “SFMTA and the City of San Francisco are great partners and an excellent location to showcase our technology,” said Urban Solar CEO Jeff Peters.
The company previously partnered with the SFTMTA to offer bus stop amenities. Urban Solar also worked with CCO on bus stop improvement projects that included solar lighting.
San Francisco has been pushing for more emphasis on solar energy in recent months, passing mandatory solar energy requirements.
