Bay Area workers are packing their bags and heading north. A recent report from LinkedIn found the number of workers moving to the region decreased 17% from February to May 2017, the East Bay Times reports. Seattle, Portland and Austin received the most Bay Area workers within the past 12 months. Seattle’s workforce also increased by 2% from February to May. Another recent report found one in five homebuyers is looking outside of the Bay Area.
It is not all bad news for the Bay Area. LinkedIn reported the Bay Area gained the most workers from New York City, Boston and Chicago, and it ranked as the 12th location for workers to move. Seattle was the top location to receive the most workers overall, with Denver, Austin and Portland rounding out the top four.
