First Look: Foster City Mixed-Use

Here's an exclusive first look at the long-awaited Foster Square, which will break ground next week and include homes, creative retail and park space. The entire development team, including The New Home Co and Lennar, will be there with city officials. Located between Shell and Foster City boulevards at Civic Center Drive, the downtown project will house 155 senior assisted-living units; 200 age-restricted condos (for buyers 55 years and up); 66 affordable units; and 32k SF of retail, set to deliver in 2016.

New Home, which will remain on as master developer, has been taking the Bay Area condo market by storm, starting hundreds of units from Foster City to Lafayette since last year. Lennar recently joined the Foster Square development team and will be constructing the 200 condos. Foster City-based MidPen Housing has been selected to build the affordable homes, and Atria Senior Living will direct construction of the senior-living units.
