TCA Livens Up An Apartment Building By Taking A Cue From Poetry

The Addison apartment building will incorporate Berkeley’s rich poetic tradition into building design. TCA Architects will incorporate a state-of-the art ‘Poetry Garage Door’ that will feature the work of a local poet.

The 107-unit property will break ground in late 2016. Bayrock Multifamily is developing the residential project in Berkeley’s Arts District.

TCA principal and Oakland office director Jonathan Cohen says the team wanted the building to reflect the neighborhood. “With this special location, there was a desire by BayRock and TCA to incorporate unique elements to connect us to this vibrant community and participate in the area’s celebration of the arts."

The architecture firm has designed other projects in the Bay Area, such as luxury apartments in South San Francisco.
