Rendering Of Proposed Development At Former Potrero Power Plant Site

Owners of the former Potrero Power Plant have big plans for the waterfront site. Associate Capital submitted plans Friday to build a mixed-use development of up to 5.3M SF with nearly 2,700 residential units, a 220-room hotel, nearly 600K SF of office, over 645K SF of lab space and over 107K SF of retail, the San Francisco Business Journal reports.

The site would include over 2,600 parking spaces covering 1M SF and 1,472 bike spaces. Associate Capital, which is backed by Hewlett-Packard CEO Meg Whitman and her husband, neurosurgeon Griffith Harsh IV, purchased the land in September 2016 for $85.7M.

The development will consist of 20 buildings with the tallest being a 300-foot residential tower and other building heights ranging from 65 feet to 180 feet. The site will include 6.3 acres of open space and an unspecified amount of affordable housing units, according to plan documents. Perkins+Will is designing the project.
