Graton Resort & Casino is hoping for another big win in Sonoma. Its latest $175M expansion will add a 200-room hotel and a 5,300 SF restaurant—both set to open Nov. 15.

Graton Resort VP and general manager Joe Hasson told the San Francisco Business Times he expects an occupancy rate of 80% to 90% and a total of 62,000 room nights a year.

The hotel at 280 Golf Course Drive in Rohnert Park will offer nightly rates starting at $399 midweek, reports SF Gate.

Boathouse Asian Eatery, which can seat 268 people, will be in the lobby of the new hotel and offer sushi and an extended menu from chef Catherine Do. The six-story hotel will have a bar and lounge, a 10k SF spa and pool, and a 20k SF event and convention center. Three additional restaurants are already at the casino, including 630 Park Steakhouse, The Daily Grill and Tony’s of North Beach. There are also several casual eateries.

The hotel expansion, designed by Friedmutter Group, also added 300 jobs and brought the casino’s employment up to 2,000, making it the second-largest employer in Sonoma, according to the San Francisco Business Times.

The casino is owned by the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria. Station Casinos operates the casino, which opened in 2013. The 320k SF casino is the largest in the Bay Area and among the five largest in California. [SFBT]
