Choice Hotels Expands Cambria Hotels Brand With Two More Hotels Headed To Bay Area

A Cambria Hotel In Philadelphia

Choice Hotels International has entered into an agreement with Stratus Development Partners to develop five Cambria Hotels, beginning with a 180-room hotel in Santa Clara. Since 2017, Choice Hotels has been expanding its Cambria Hotels brand throughout the country.

Choice Hotels and Stratus have secured a site in Santa Clara and have identified a site in the Greater San Francisco market for a second hotel. The companies did not name the three sites that would follow the two Bay Area hotels.

The five hotels planned are in addition to three hotels Choice Hotels and Stratus Development Partners are currently collaborating on in Napa, California; Orlando, Florida; and Sonoma, California, Choice Hotels Vice President, Development, Upscale Brands Mark Shalala said in a statement.

Choice Hotels also is working with Villa Developers & Investments on a Cambria Hotel in San Jose at 2850 Stevens Creek Road near Santana Row. That hotel is expected to open this year.

Cambria Hotels has nearly 120 properties open or in the pipeline in 42 of the top 50 hotel markets. In the past six months, Cambria Hotels added locations in Asheville, North Carolina; Dallas; Nashville, Tennessee; Philadelphia; and Phoenix, Choice Hotels Senior Vice President, Upscale Brands Janis Cannon said in a statement.
