CBS Pulling The Plug On 505 Howard?

Here's some bad news about a news giant: We learned the pending CBS Interactive lease at Tishman's Foundry Square III blew up late on Friday, and now the deal could be dead. (Letterman's gonna have a field day with this one.)

CBS was ready to take two to three floors (between 65k and 90k SF) in the 10-story building at 505 Howard, but now sources close to the deal tell us the lease could be off the table for reasons unknown. That's causing a negative chain reaction, because we just learned that LinkedIn was looking to backfill the space CBS was going to vacate at 235 2nd with a monster lease of at least 150k SF. Last fall, Neustar inked 144k SF to take half of 505 Howard as the anchor tenant, helping move forward Tishman's next office tower at 222 Second.
