The Stanley, a 26-unit apartment community in San Diego's South Park neighborhood, has undergone a recent $2M makeover and rebranding. The complex at 2827 A St is in an area considered SD’s first suburb, but with its close proximity to Downtown, South Park is rapidly evolving into an urban neighborhood.

Melissa Deen, VP at SD-based Sunrise Management, which manages The Stanley, says renovation of this tired, 1980s-era multifamily property is a reflection of South Park’s ongoing renaissance. “The makeover of what was previously known as The Fairway Palms adds to the urban charm of this popular neighborhood,” she says, noting the building's curb appeal was enhanced with a modern Spanish-style facade.

The complex boasts high-end finishes, such as oil-rubbed bronze fixtures and fine tile accents, and state-of-the-art appliances, she adds. Upgrades include completely redesigned one- and two-bedroom apartments that feature contemporary kitchens, two-tone wall paint, ceiling fans, upgraded bathrooms, private balconies, and central heat and air. The update also added amenities found in luxury projects, such as an outdoor courtyard with barbecues (pictured) and a lounge area with views of the downtown skyline, Deen says.

Originally built in 1987, the two-story building provides controlled entry access and parking, a high-tech laundry facility that emails residents when their laundry is ready, and on-site management. The property’s rebranding included a new logo, signage and website.
