A historic Gaslamp Quarter property is getting a little piece of Hollywood. The William Penn Building was just sold to LA-based Maxxam Enterprises for $10.2M from Viewpoint Equities. Formerly the William Penn Hotel, the circa 1913 mixed-use property at 511 F St underwent major renovations in 2001, and now houses 18 apartments and 11k SF of retail, anchored by Maloney's Tavern, according to the San Diego Business Journal. CBRE's Jim Neil, Eric Comer and Merrick Matricardi brokered the sale. [SDBJ]
