Forbes Will Open Event Space in Manhattan

Forbes is building out a 7,500 SF space on the ground floor of a residential tower near the publication’s former HQ in the Village that still bears its name. Forbes relocated to a 98k SF spread in Jersey City in December. By the fall of this year, the new space should be ready, but the NY Post isn’t disclosing an address, only saying it’ll be near the old HQ on Lower Fifth Avenue. The new digs won’t be offices but a space for receptions, meetings and speaking events. To cut costs, Forbes sold a majority stake to Asian investors last year. No word yet on whether the media company will take a page out of the NYT’s playbook by renting out the new space to bring in more revenue. [NYP]
