Why the Public Library's Converted to Office Space

Freelancers are using libraries as offices, and the library system’s all for it. The Brooklyn Central Library lets you book a conference room for a meeting or even use one of 10 17-inch iMacs set up with software like Final Cut Pro and Pro Tools. A Brooklyn Central Library spokesperson tells the Wall Street Journal the library actually sets out to create a vibe where folks can look at the place as their office. The Queens Library’s Flushing branch and the 67th Street Library on the Upper East Side also got honorable mentions from the Journal as big draws for the office-averse.
