NYU, the new owner of the eight-story office building at 60 Fifth Ave, formerly Forbes Magazine HQ, has filed plans to expand the 92,566 SF structure. It will remain eight stories tall, but it's interior square footage will go from 10k SF to 102,742 SF. NYU will also raise the roof line from 109 feet to 121 feet.
There will be classrooms on the basement and first floor of 60 Fifth, while the remaining floors will be offices. Interior demolition began in April and is expected to wrap up in spring 2016. NYU purchased the landmark building for $65M in 2010. [NYY]
