Coming Soon to Coney Island: Smorgasburg and Street Art

As part of Thor Equities' ongoing plans to restore Coney Island to its former glory, Joe Sitt (pictured) and art adviser Jeffrey Deitch are bringing street art to the summertime playground. Coney Art Walls will include installments from 20-plus artists like Crash, Futura and Lady Pink. Meanwhile, art aficionados can grab a bite at the 12-vendor Smorgasburg, which will be operating nearby, Commercial Observer reports. The vendors will work out of metal shipping containers provided by SG Blocks. And if you're hoping to do some stargazing, Mark and Donnie Wahlberg's restaurant, Wahlburgers, will open a 6,800 SF restaurant near the boardwalk. [CO]
