The good news: NYC is getting more pools. The bad news: you have to be willing to drop some serious cash for one of them. We are talking private pools, an amenity that's being called the "private elevator" of this decade.
Manhattan will be offering about 10 major buildings with at least one private pool in the next year, but at prices ranging from $7M to $70M, so get out your wallets.
Among them is Extell's One Riverside Park, which has three units with 25- to 30-foot-long pools ranging from $15M to $25M. Soori High Line in Chelsea will have private indoor/outdoor pools in more than half of its 31 condos. The penthouse at 172 Madison has a 15-foot-long pool taking up one side of the entire third floor of the building.
50 United Nations Plaza (pictured) has a $70M; 9,700 SF duplex with an infinity pool, 43 floors up. 1110 Park Ave's $35M triplex penthouse not only has a pool but an outdoor fireplace as well. And 435 W 19th St will have a private pool in every unit, along with private parking via private elevators. Its smallest apartment has a pool surrounded by retractable glass walls for year-round fun.
