A 34-story condo tower is going up in Hell's Kitchen, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Álvaro Siza.

Developer Sumaida + Khurana plans to have about 123k SF of residential and roughly 4k SF of retail in the building, which sits at 611 West 56th St. Said Sumaida and Amit Khurana were honored by Bisnow last year as two of the city's leading real estate figures. 

Two buildings currently occupy the lot. Sumaida + Khurana purchased the site, along with the adjacent 823 11th Ave, from grocery store magnate John Catsimatidis in 2015 for $55M, The Real Deal reports.

The finished tower will hold about 80 units, and include amenities like a landscaped rooftop garden, a swimming pool, a spa and fitness center, a screening room and a children’s play area. Construction is set to start this summer and wrap up by 2019. [TRD]
