42k SF Warehouse in Gowanus Hits the Market

Another big development site in Gowanus is up for grabs. 545 Sackett St, a 42k SF warehouse, is on the market, asking between $23M and $27M. Adam Brooks president Glenn Schattner is the current owner, according to The Real Deal. Terra CRG’s Dan Marks (snapped at his office last year), Ofer Cohen, Melissa Warren, Peter Matheos, Mike Hernandez and David Algarin form the team selling the building. It’s zoned for office, a development site with retail, or a creative space. 39th District councilmember Brad Lander’s been pushing for a rezoning to spur more development in the area, so other possibilities may open up. Whole Foods opened its first Brooklyn location nearby in 2013, and heavy-hitters like Kushner Cos, SL Green and LVWRK count themselves among recent buyers in the area lining the Gowanus Canal. [TRD]
